Product Application techniques:
Chemtech CT14 is a degreaser that quickly penetrates grease and grime, removing soils from metal, concrete and other hard surfaces. It is excellent for use in cleaning greasy engines, engine parts, transmissions, machinery, garages, workshop floors, concrete driveways, bilges in boats etc. also engineering plants and other commercial areas.
When using CT14 it is important to apply product at highest possible dilution. This is achieved by making-up a sample at the highest recommended dilution with testing on a small inconspicuous area to be cleaned. Starting off at highest dilution rates not only saves you money through unnecessary product wastage, however, also acts as an opportunity to appraise compatibility of product with sensitive surfaces that need cleaning. If good cleaning results are not achieved at highest recommended dilution rates, then try slightly higher dilutions until desired cleaning is achieved. Chemtech CT14 thus makes an ideal degreaser for those lighter degreasing applications as it can be easily mixed and diluted with water.
Chemtech CT14 should never be used (applied) on warm or hot surfaces, and preferably out of direct sunlight. Also, it should not be allowed to dry on any surfaces being cleaned.
Light Degreasing: Use 1 part CT14 in 20 parts water, for removal of diesel soot on paintwork, cleaning vinyl upholstery and headlining.
Heavy Degreasing: Use 1 part CT14 in 10 parts water for use in lube bays, on concrete driveways, engines, transmissions, and differentials. Allow 10-15 minutes contact time before rinsing.
Extra Heavy Grease Build-up: Use 1 part CT14 in 1 part mineral turps or kerosene. Use immediately after mixing.
Bilge Cleaning: Add to bilge water in the ratio of 1:25 and allow 12 hours of natural boat movement before pumping out. Whilst CT14 is biodegradable, after use bilge water will contain oil and grease, and should be pumped out in an environmentally responsible manner.
Pressure Washer and Steam Cleaner: Adjust flow of CT14 to provide 1-5% solution at discharge nozzle.
CAUTION: Can be used on most metals, alloys, plastics, rubber and glass. Avoid applying or overspray with neat or strong dilution on zinc, aluminium, magnesium alloys or paintwork. Always test CT14 on a small inconspicuous area to be degreased, to ensure compatibility with surface.
