General information re Product and how to maximise effectiveness by the correct placement & installation
To ensure maximum effectiveness of the Insect Solutions System it is crucial to understand how a “barrier” of natural pyrethrins is created and maintained.
The objective is to create a barrier in the localised atmosphere which flying and crawling insects will be unable or unwilling to enter! And if they do they will ultimately die - typically near a light source as they retreat. It should also be noted that the pyrethrin based mist permeates all areas, nook, crannies etc., and will be a effective deterrent against the majority of insect pests including ants, spiders etc
Therefore the service is most effective when dispensers are located away from air conditioner air flows, back drafts, wind tunnels.
The success of the installation is to ensure there are units mounted at both front and rear of premises, any openings that will permit flying insects to enter and/or rear stores, kitchen and food preparation or back door areas.
It is normal for a small retail property with this type of facilities to have a minimum of two units installed, front and rear.
This type of installation will ensure maximum coverage of the area in question.
Typically each unit will cover or mist a minimum of 6 Squares in an average commercial situation given regard to open doors, windows etc coupled with the prevail air conditioning flows that may exist.
Installation:
- Out of any direct draft, air conditioner or wind tunnel. Ideally where the mist is released into non turbulent airflows.
- Install at least 2100 centimetres from ground i.e. to top of mounting clip
- At least 250cm from ceiling and 600cm minimum from a corner and/or direct door or window
- Do not install directly over food or food preparation area, bench, equipment; ensure a 600cm break or gap. Whilst it is safe the food and health inspectors prefer to see a distance offset for customer comfort and assurance
- Do not install in small unventilated room
- Always install in vertical position
- The direction of the dispenser should ideally form a 180 degree area at a minimum ultimately the mist will cover 360 degrees.
- Place in a position to allow uninterrupted dispersal
- When installed correctly the misting will disperse throughout all areas ensuring complete coverage including small and hard to access locations.
Commence Misting:
- Shake can and screw clockwise into dispenser, finger tight only
- Before can is placed inside wall mount cover depress the on/off button several times until the mist is expelled each time. Now hold button down until it remains down-It is now on
- It is critical that you check that the can is left in the ON position!
- Once this is completed the dispenser will operate automatically, should you wish to stop misting bursts just depress on/off button and repeat cycle to restart.
- Can is effective for 6 weeks or 1000 hours before requiring replacement at mist burst every 5 minutes. We do not change the length of time between bursts having proved through extensive testing that this is the most effective.
- Ensure the install date is diarised and refill/service is diarised / programmed for 40 days forward. Experience tells us that for service continuity coupled with quality assurance this is the most effective timing given the differing environments and locations where installs take place.
- The system once installed and activated normally shows a positive effect within 30 minutes, however 24 hours is required for the “barrier” to be established and the normal traffic of insects’ flies etc to be dramatically reduced and then effectively stopped. It should be recognised that the odd insect will still enter the premises but typically no more than the odd one and will be quickly eradicated.
